| If
you are an American citizen working in Japan you are required
to file your US income tax return every year. Foreign
residents have an automatic extension until June 15 to
file and pay their tax, but must pay interest on any taxes
owing from the normal due date of April 15. If you expect
to owe taxes, you should file your return or pay an estimate
by April 15 to avoid paying interest. I have been preparing
US income tax returns for American expatriates residing
in Japan since 1987. Please e-mail
me with any questions regarding your tax return or for
a free estimate. I also review prior year tax returns
for free. |
