I moved to Japan in 1987. Before that I had my own tax preparation practice in Oregon for over 10 years. My wife is Japanese and we have two daughters. In October 2008 we moved to Hawaii, but I am continuing this business the same as always. We still have our home in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, and I return to my office there to meet clients two or three times a year. I am licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Hawaii and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

My practice:

I specialize in US personal income tax returns for Americans living in Japan, including former residents that have returned to the US or moved to other countries. I have no corporate clients.

IRS Audits:

I have had only three clients undergo full-scale IRS audits in the last 25 years. All of these audits resulted in no change to the originally filed tax amount.

Your information is seen only by me and my staff. Your names and e-mail addresses are not divulged. I do not use your names to solicit clients. Your kind referrals make no advertising necessary. However, if there ever were to be any kind of legal proceedings, CPA's do not have attorney-client privilege.

Hobbies, interests:

A bit of vegetable gardening, golf, the New Yorker magazine (a bargain subscription of great political comments,
fiction, etc.).
