I moved to Japan in 1987. Before that I had my own tax preparation practice in Oregon for over 10 years. My wife is Japanese and we have two daughters. In October 2008 we moved to Hawaii, but I am continuing this business the same as always. We still have our home in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture and I return to my office there to meet clients two or three times a year. I am licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Hawaii.
My
practice:
I
specialize in US personal income tax returns for Americans
living in Japan, including former residents that have
returned to the US or moved to other countries. I have no employees so you can be
assured that even the simplest tax returns are prepared
by me and that difficult tax returns are not assigned
to inexperienced staff. I have no corporate clients.
IRS Audits:
I have had only two clients undergo full-scale IRS audits in the last 20 years. Both audits resulted in no change.
Confidentiality:
Your
information is seen only by me. Your names and e-mail
addresses are not divulged. However, if there ever were
to be any kind of legal proceedings, CPA's do not have
attorney-client privilege.
Hobbies,
interests:
A
bit of vegetable gardening, golf, the New Yorker magazine
(a bargain subscription of great political comments,
fiction, etc.).
